As expected, the Nets will make a contract extension offer to Deron Williams which he could sign as early as December 9.

Billy King said he has not talked with the Magic since February, in answering questions that follow from ESPN's Wednesday report that the team is preparing a trade offer for Dwight Howard.

I know the Nets get a lot of hate on here because of Domerocker, because they've been shit the past few years, and because they play in NJ, but you have to be blind to think that Deron and Dwight teaming up in Brooklyn isn't the best thing for all parties involved. Deron and Dwight would be the best teammate either of them has ever had and would work so well together on the court. Not to mention they would get to headline the move to a billion dollar arena in Brooklyn and likely create a rivalry with the Knicks and their duo of STAT and Melo.

Deron and Dwight alone puts the Nets above all in the East, but the Heat.

On another note:

King said he will offer Deron Williams a two-year contract extension worth roughly $40 million whenever it’s allowed by the CBA rules. That should be coming up shortly. He could also opt-out and re-sign with the Nets for five years, $100 million.
That would be up to 40 million more than he could get anywhere else.
