The Celtics have been discussing trading Rajon Rondo for Chris Paul, according to sources. But the Hornets don't appear interested in a two-team deal.

Danny Ainge has been searching for a third team that would give the Hornets young pieces that would help Dell Demps in his rebuilding plan.

It is also unclear whether Paul would agree to an extension, something Ainge would need to execute a trade.

Interesting. I wonder if the age of the players there would be a deterrent. It's gotta still be an attractive place to sign the extension.

Find a team with a nice young big and I'd do it.

Hmm definitely intriguing for the Celtics, but I think it would also be interesting to see how Rondo would play on the Hornets.

im not sure if Minnesota would do this, or NOLA but:

BOS gets: CP3
NOLA gets: Rondo, Derrick Williams
MIN gets: Avery Bradley, 2012 LAC 1st, 2012 NOLA 1st, 2012 BOS 1st

Hornets give up their 2012 1st, but get back Derrick Williams. And the Wolves get 3 1sts, two of them being possibly great picks in the deepest draft class since 2003. Plus, they get young Avery Bradley

They still have Beasley, who put up good numbers last year, to play SF.

Plus, the Hornets team is lotto bound. Clippers may be too. 2 lotto picks in 2012 may be worth Derrick. But I did say i wasnt sure Minny would do it

This trade would benefit both teams IMO.
I like Rondo on the Hornets.

they trade would only happen if Chris Paul agreed to an extension with them. I just don't see why he would go to Boston when KG is turning 36 and Pierce is 34. To sign a 3 or 4 year deal with them. If its not about the money, he'll have better options.

I truly think some players would prefer to win than take the money, right now. It sounds crazy but maybe thats a good thing. We always talk about players just waltzing away to some craptastic team because they offered the most $$.

but i came to post this
Pacers want Rondo
As Boston Celtics general manager Danny Ainge aggressively pursues possible deals for Rajon Rondo, the Indiana Pacers have emerged as an intriguing suitor for the point guard, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

For the past few days, Pacers officials – and third-party surrogates – have been making calls and gathering information and insight into Rondo’s reputation as a teammate and leader, sources said.

The Pacers and Celtics have discussed the preliminary framework of a deal, but two sources said Indiana would need a third team to provide Boston with the talent it wants to do a deal. The Celtics are likely trying to gather the necessary pieces to make a bid for Ainge’s ultimate target: New Orleans point guard Chris Paul, sources said.

It was unclear if the Pacers had begun to reach out to broaden discussions, but there was an expectation they would do so.

And for inquiring minds: If Clips are offering EGordon/DeAndre Jordan and another piece (Bledsoe/Aminu/Minn's 1st), that's a better deal.
Gordon, Jordan, and Minny's 1st. I'll pack your bags CP.
