I'm not sure how the D-League salary stuff works, but Singler is getting guaranteed money overseas, with no threat of being sent down to a lesser league and losing pay. The guy was a 2nd round pick, he isn't guaranteed a roster spot.

Even if he was going to be the back up, teams change their plans. Maybe he under performs and the Pistons feel he needs work in the D-League. He'll be back.
