I've seen some reports now saying that he might be able to come back before the regular season ends...

God I hope so...

Just when things were looking so good.

On another note, Bears had to place another player on IR...

One of the best long-snappers in the game, Patrick Mannelly, is done for the year with an ACL injury.

Looking at their schedule, they should be able to win several games...despite throwing Hanie in there, but if Hanie plays well, they have a real good shot at winning even more.

I could see them going 3-3. They still have an awesome RB and a pretty solid defense. I could see them losing to the Raiders, Packers and maybe Seattle or Minnesota.

I think it affects them emotionally just as bad. They were starting to play so well with Cutler, I think this is just going to be a deflating loss for them.

Or maybe they play even better and rally around Hanie, who knows.

I think they'll be fine emotionally. We've got enough leadership and coaching to not have let downs in the running game, on defense, and on special teams.

You just can't replace the talent Jay Cutler brings to a football team.

If we can go 3-3, we should have a good shot at the playoffs. I'm already marking down a loss on Christmas Day, so that leaves Oakland (tough game already), Denver (would've been nice to have Jay go back to Denver and win), Kansas City, Seattle, and Minnesota, with those last three being very, very winnable.

rotoworld:
ESPN's Rachel Nichols reports that the Bears have "revised" Jay Cutler's (thumb) timeline for return and now believe he could play in Week 16 or 17 of the regular season.
Per Nichols, the Bears became a bit more optimistic after Cutler consulted a hand specialist on Monday morning. Cutler will still require surgery, but his season may not quite be over yet. "They're saying he could be back for the last game, maybe even last two games of the regular season," reported Nichols.
Promising news for the Bears.

Smart move. They gotta hold out at in case they make it to the playoffs as a Wild Card.

Cutler returning in Week 16 would be a great Christmas present.

He needs to get back before the playoffs if he wants to establish any sort of rhythm.
