Paul Kuharsky/ESPN.com - Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio has said that rookie quarterback Blaine Gabbert has done difficult things well this season, but he has to master some of the basics.

According to ESPN Stats and Info, Gabbert has gone just 60-for-120 on throws that have traveled less than 10 yards in the air.

On those throws, he has one touchdown and an interception. His passer rating (60.9) in such circumstances are the worst numbers in the league among 34 quarterbacks that have logged substantial playing time.

Gabbert is 10-for-10 on screens for 92 yards with a 105.0 passer rating.

All that video shows me is that while his receivers aren't helping Gabbert, Gabbert isn't exactly helping the receivers either.

Kinda hard to help the receivers when they're basically getting shadowed from no separation.

Im not exactly making excuses for Gabbert since its quite obvious to others as well that the Jags WR just can't get separation. Ever since Marcedes got his new contract hes been non existent, and theres been some rumors inside the building that some people feel Gabbert isn't exactly being taught correctly by the QB coach who spent most of life as a damn WR coach. Gabbert has faced like 6 of the hardest defenses out of what? 9 games? Give the kid a break.

Who did Sam Bradford have last year?

Danny Amendola? Brandon Gibson? Daniel Fells? lol

Yet he still completed 60% of his passes for more than 3,500 yards and had 18 TD's.

I will say this to credit Kam

Jacksonville has faced the toughest overall pass defense in the league this season

You have to think his confidence is a little shot right now, which is understandable.

Hate to tell you, Amendola and Gibson can get separation..

Separation has always been a problem with our best WR Mike Thomas, and every other receiver is a possession receiver that can't get no separation.

Talk about what you know.

Gabbert said just last week it isnt..

Once again, talk about what you know.

Gabbert faced the top 3 defenses in the league 3 weeks in a row and barely turned the ball over.. Don't understand what "confidence" he should of lost.. it isn' this fault that teams in the CFL have better WR corps than the Jaguars right now.
