DENVER -- Ndamukong Suh will meet with NFL officials during the Lions' bye week to get a better understanding of the rules he's been breaking.

Detroit's second-year defensive tackle asked commissioner Roger Goodell for the meeting to talk about all the flags he keeps drawing for roughing up quarterbacks.

"To me it's just an opportunity to go out there and have good dialogue, see what I can take from that meeting," Suh said after the Lions' 45-10 win at Denver on Sunday. "If it's nothing it's nothing, if it's something good, then it's something good."

Suh, the second overall draft pick in 2010, is a passionate player but insists he's not a dirty one. He's helped lead the Lions' rebirth after decades of mostly mediocre seasons, and is a big reason for their new reputation as one of the NFL's more physical defenses.

Asked what the league doesn't get about him, Suh said, "I have no clue, that's why we're having a meeting. I'm not changing my game. My game has gotten me to where I am right now. I'm only planning on building off of things I have accomplished."

The former Nebraska star will meet Tuesday with those NFL staffers responsible for enforcing the rules. The get-together will include football operations consultant Jeff Fisher, along with Ray Anderson, Merton Hanks and Carl Johnson. Suh can bring along a coach if he wants.

Makes sense. He just wants to have a better understanding of things because you know he's getting frustrated with these fines. Even if he's told there really isn't anything that can be changed, he will have at least tried, and that's something.

LOL pretty much.

But I think its cool he at least is going to sit down and go over the rules. Most players would just be like f*** ya'll.

Be honest, how many of his hits are that bad?

I don't think it's against the rules to throw a QB around if it isn't by the facemask.
LOL your saying you can grab a guy by his helmet and throw him down???

I believe they call it unnecessary roughness...

but he's only done something like that twice that I know of. Dalton and that one.

If you actually read his post...You would see that he said how many of his hits are actually like that..? And I don't think its a penalty to do that if it doesnt have a facemask involved. But with today's nfl it probably is.

Yeah, he tackles like that pretty damn often. Clearly an idiot.
He's done that twice that got a lot of coverage and has had two other completely unnecessary and flat-out dirty hits that have been highly publicized. Other than that, I haven't seen him get flagged much at all for his hits but what he does is probably flag-worthy the majority of the time from the few times I've watched him.

The Dalton hit wasn't even that bad compared to the Delhomme one.
And the Cutler hit was completely legal.

Other than that, he hasn't done any "dirty" things..
