CSN New Englands - Terrell Owens will hold a workout of sorts on Tuesday in California and the Patriots are one of the teams that will evaluate the free-agent wide receiver.

Patriots director of player personnel Nick Caserio said in a conference call on Monday that the Patriots will evaluate Owens, just as they would any free agent holding workouts during the season.

"I think he's no different than a lot of the other players that have been on the street," said Caserio. "We'll evaluate those players when they're available. We'll look at our situation, and then just make the determination, if that's something that makes sense for us. He's no different than however many other free agents are out there currently."

...why? Patriots fans are already second guessing the trade for Ochocinco. Why get another aged hot-headed receiver?

My only guess is they're there just to see if they'll be blown away by how physically ready he is, but unless they are absolutely blown out of the water they won't even bother trying to sign him.

The Patriots need a down field threat to get some kind of vertical passing game. If they sign Owens, I assume they would cut Ochocinco.

Also, I somewhat want the Browns to sign him.. I want to see how Colt performs with a better WR core, and he would certainly improve the core.. Only needs to be a one year deal, and if he messes with Colt's mindset, then whatever, I don't believe he's the future anyway.

So, apparently nobody showed up to the workout... nobody. Just a few NFL Network cameramen. LOL.

but then I also heard, and while I don't believe it i've seen just about everything so I wouldnt be surprised, is that no teams showed up because they didn't want their division rivals to know they were interested in Owens, and figured they could see everything they needed to see through the live broadcast of his workout.

I don't care what anyone says about TO, not adding him to your team when you need a WR is mistake. He's been consistently great his entire career and would have had a 1000 yard season last year at 36 if not for missing two games.

He's not ready yet, the season is half over, he's 37, he will take playing time away from developing players, he's been on three teams in three seasons and is a problem.

Honestly if I were a good team that really only has like 3 good WRs, i'd take him just to give me that 4 or 5 wide set a bit stronger.

No NFL Teams Attend T.O.'s Workout

ESPN.com - No NFL teams attended Terrell Owens' workout in Calabasas, Calif., on Tuesday, but the 37-year-old receiver said he was confident that he showed enough that teams will be interested.

The free-agent is unsigned after tearing his ACL and having surgery in early April. He participated in some drills and caught passes Tuesday in the workout that was televised on ESPN and the NFL Network. He did not run the 40-yard dash.

Exactly. he's a headcase who, if isn't a #1 receiver, makes it known he's unhappy. He disrupts the locker room and the team chemistry. He tore his ACL, and turns 38 in December. He tore his ACL, and did not run the 40 yard dash. That is not going to look good when teams evaluate his drill. He may have that ability to catch, but not knowing that speed is going to be a red flag.

I think though at his age and coming off that injury, he knows he is just coming in to help out and looking for a job.
I think his annoying ass ego could be gone.

TO knows he won't be the #1 option...and he'll be fine with it.

Hmmm I wonder if he'll take the AFL option...I can see him doing ok there.
