The Chicago Tribune reports the Bears will bench veteran safeties Chris Harris and Brandon Meriweather in favor of Major Wright and Chris Conte this week.
The moves should come to the surprise of no one who watched Monday night's loss to the Lions. Harris looked incredibly slow in coverage. Meriweather was often out of position while continuing to lead with his helmet as a head-hunting tackler. The inexperienced Wright and Conte should represent an improvement in coverage, but this change may actually help Adrian Peterson in Week 6.

I don't really understand benching Chris Harris unless he is still hurt, granted he didn't look good against the Lions.

Meriweather on the other hand has been awful. Dude can't cover and just launches himself like a missile when he tries to tackle.

With that said... I'd rather have Harris and Meriweather out there than Major Wright and Chris Conte.

Don't get why they made that move for Meriweather, dude is bad.

FWIW, Harris has the worst rating of all the Bears defenders on PFF at -6.1.

The fuck does that mean?

Harris has only played one game healthy and was pretty bad against the Vikings, I'd assume because he's still hurt, so that probably explains the poor "rating."

Now Chris Harris requests a trade...

I'm done with this guy, ship him outta town.

I don't care if he is our best safety, his attitude is terrible.
