Houston Texans linebacker Mario Williams is out for the season with a torn pectoral muscle and will have surgery this week, the Houston Chronicle reported Monday.

Williams was scheduled for an MRI exam Monday to determine the extent of the injury he suffered during the first half of the Texans' 25-20 loss to the Oakland Raiders on Sunday. Texans coach Gary Kubiak offered no specifics on Williams' condition after the game.

Williams did not return to the game after leaving with the injury. He recorded a sack of Raiders quarterback Jason Campbell with about five minutes left in the first quarter, and left the game soon thereafter.

Williams had 5.0 sacks this season.

& Hes a free agent this year..

Doubtful he'll get a contract from the Texans with them being unsure how he will heal.

Yeah, they're not going to try and bring back their best defensive player and the guy they invested the #1 overall pick on because of a torn pectoral.

I'd love it if they did though, he could do some real damage with Rex in NY :D

if they're unsure of his health, i'm sure other teams will feel the same way. So odds are he stays with Houston unless he wants out.

Damn this a very big loss for the Texans. And then you consider that they lost to the Raiders, the way they did. The Titans look like the leader of that division more and more. Starting to become the worst division in the AFC.

Titans are shaky, especially without Britt.

I think Houston will still win the division but, that is a big blow to the defense

Remember when kam thought this was the best division in football?

The Jags suck, the Colts suck, the Titans are decent and the Texans are just decent.

Makings of a great division IMO.

SMH. Its always easy to go back and say so and so is wrong.

Remember when BC said that Sucky ass Sanchez was going to solidify himself this season as a Great QB..

The fuck out of here..

Not once did I ever say Sanchez would solidify himself as a great QB. I said that he would take a step up. He was average last year, a step up would be a good QB.

He's played pretty well this season minus the Baltimore game and he had no shot in that game. He had about 2 seconds to throw the ball on every play.
