When I initially saw the play, I thought he went to the ground deliberately. However, at the time I assumed he had to be touched so when he let go of the ball like 2 seconds later and got up, I was cursing out his name.

And thanks domerocker for the rule. I was trying to find a rulebook online earlier but to no success.

Doesnt really matter anyway

Cardinals had a chance to score after we did, couldnt do it.

Giants have proved me wrong this season, and Eli has looked as good as he has in about 2-3 years the last 3 games.

If you look at the replay you can see that right after Cruz goes down he gets right back up and starts heading to back to the line to get the play since they are in the hurry up. With that logic you can understand that he wasnt going to try and get back up and sneak in for a TD. He was giving himself up by falling head first down before getting hit.

Kind of weird that the Cardinals didnt try to touch him...

He looks like he purposly went down, that should not have been a fumble in any way. He went down and started walking back to the line... if it was a fumble you can bet he wouldve done all he could to get it back.

first of all, why would he give himself up, and not wait to be touched. saving time was not the issue there. it was a bonehead move and he got bailed out because the refs didn't make the right call.

Even Eli said it was a fumble lol.

Two chances and you guys not scoring makes things a lot easier than one shot with a TD on the board for the G-Men.

eli didn't have an overhead view. He thought he stumbled. Did you pay attention to the video you just posted? Because it's pretty clear he went to the ground intentionally. The rule was already posted to back that up.

He faked left, juked to his right, saw a 2nd defender closing in and dropped to 2 knees before landing on his stomach, let go of the ball, got up and ran back towards the LOS.

How that is a slip, I have no clue....
