Rob Ryan: Cowboys Receivers Are Better Than Calvin Johnson

Dallas Morning News - Cowboys defensive coordinator Rob Ryan will face the challenge of trying to stop the undefeated Lions and star wide receiver Calvin Johnson this weekend.

Ryan says that Johnson is "a great receiver," but not as good as the Cowboys receiving duo of Miles Austin and Dez Bryant.

"We work against better receivers with Miles Austin and Dez Bryant. They are probably two of the premier receivers in football, but this guy is right there," Ryan said. "He's almost that good. He's excellent.

"We're going to get after him. I know he's on some touchdown thing like that, whatever. [Lions offensive coordinator] Scott Linehan has done this before with great receivers with Randy Moss. If the guy is as good as Randy Moss I'm going to go in there and hide. Thank God he's not, but he's a pretty [expletive] good player."

Yeah, right. Dallas has one receiver that might be able to even say he's within the area of Johnson's skill, and that's Miles Austin who isn't playing from what I've heard. Absolutely stupid thing to say from Rob Ryan.

how is this wrong? no one here should say he shouldnt have said this. yes, you can say so and so is on top of his game or whatever but you should never ever say your players DO NOT compare.

they arent better than calvin but he cant say that. and dez will be a top player in the next few years.
