Reggie Wayne reiterated his opinion Thursday that Curtis Painter deserves to be starting over Kerry Collins.

"It took me two years to learn this offense," Wayne said. "Now, you mean to tell me you're gonna bring in somebody and he's gonna learn it in 18 days? ... Our whole motto's always been 'the next man up.' And then we went and got somebody else. I'm like, 'Well, that's not how we roll, really.'" It looks like Wayne will finally get his wish this week.

I agree with Wayne. Granted, Collins can't feel too good about his #1 wide receiver continuing to say that he shouldn't be starting, but he's right. Painter does know the offense a lot better, and while he's not the most talented QB, at least he has some potential to make some plays. Makes a lot of sense to me.

Thoughts?

Bitch or no bitch, he's right. Collins isn't succeeding in the role because he's still not familiar with the offense and it will take him too much time to get a handle on it. Painter already knows it. He's not trying to devalue Collins' skill or ability to be a QB, he's just reiterating that in this system it's more about knowledge of how it's run than your ability to throw the ball.
