People overrate them every year, not a big surprise there, but they have looked good on defense against who they have played...despite those teams suck.

Exactly.

The only thing that really worries me is that there isn't much film to go off of for their new 3-4 look on defense. Though I suspect that Sean Payton is hitting the archives and watching other tapes of Wade Phillips defenses.

And the Jags will probably lose, unless Gabbert is amazing.
SMFH.

Once again, all Gabbert has to do is hand the ball off, and manage the game.

Luke McCown could't complete what he was suppose to.. therefore the INTs, therfore the change at QB.

Gabbert doesn't need to do a whole lot this year to win, just hand it off to MJD and take whats hes given.

Wasn't the same thing said about McCown? "All he has to do is hand it off and manage the game."

That's exactly what he said lol

Jags may be actually worse than I predicted them to be
I'm just saying...just handing the ball of and "managing" the game is a lot harder to do than people think.

Not to mention to win in the NFL you have to change it up a little, you would beat very few teams by running it 40 times a game and throwing a bunch of bubble screens and such like you see in college.

Plus you don't think Carolina watched tape of Gabbert? He's awful under pressure right now. Just stack the box and blitz. I think Lewis is still out, so I think the Panthers will beat on the Jags

Not to mention that Cam will go nuts on their D if the past is any indication

McCown did do that in the first game, and look what happened? We won.

Playcalling was part of the problem in the Jets game, it'd be 3rd and 1.. and they'd try to throw it with McCown when MJD would of got it. As for the INTs, after the first one.. McCown seemed to keep trying to "prove" himself other than just continuing with the game play and take whats getting. He tried to force a number of throws, and 2 of them were INT'd. If theres anything about Gabbert, he doesn't force the football.

That's exactly what he said lol

Jags aren't a bad team at all, We lost to the Jets whos a good football team... Awesome, doesn't mean the season is over.

Go back, teams have made it to the playoffs just by having a QB "Handing it off" and "Taking what hes given". You don't have to be Aaron fucking Rodgers or Drew Brees to win a football game. Jags defense played dope despite the score.. All Gabbert has to do is manage the game, and they've added alot of new plays to the playbook this week to take shots down the field.. Something Gabbert can do that Luke didn't have the accuracy for.

Lewis is back, and if the past is any indication? From where? The Jets, Titans game? Something tells me you didn't watch the Defense.. Played well in both games. Carolina can watch Gabbert all day, Newton has more tape out there than Gabbert.. soo yeah.. Advantage = Jags.

Former Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer might be demanding a trade and threatening to retire if his "request" isn't capitulated, but he might not find any common ground with players in the league today. CBSSports.com's Mike Freeman writes that players around the league are making fun of Palmer, but not in a good way.

Maybe the guy's happy with his life. But I can tell you there are players around the league ripping Palmer as a chump who was afraid to take on the challenge of sticking with the Bengals and making them good again. Some players are calling him the word that is slang for a cat. They also feel he's getting a pass from the media.

Rookie defensive tackle Nick Fairley returned to Detroit Lions practice today for the first time since fracturing his left foot Aug. 1.
Fairley took part in stretching and individual drills, hitting a sled and running over bags, during the open portion of practice.
The 13th overall pick in April's draft, Fairley hasn't played for the Lions this year and isn't expected to dress for Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings.
The Lions have been cautious with three players returning from foot injuries -- Fairley, cornerback Alphonso Smith and offensive tackle Jason Fox. Fox still isn't practicing, while Smith returned from his broken foot before the opener but still hasn't played in a game.
Lions coach Jim Schwartz said earlier this week that Fairley, who underwent surgery Aug. 3, still will play a significant role this year.
"When he’s able and he can represent himself well, we’ll get him out on the field," Schwartz said. "I think the one thing I will say about it is with the depth that we have there, it helps us not have to be – urgent isn’t a good word because we are urgent with it, but impatient, make a bad decision and put any player out before he’s ready.
"So I think that’s been a help in this whole thing is Sammie (Hill) and (Andre) Fluellen and Corey (Williams) and (Ndamukong) Suh, we’ve got good production out of our defensive tackles."
Tight end Brandon Pettigrew returned to practice today after sitting out Wednesday and Thursday with a shoulder injury.

Kerry Collins injured his shoulder apparently, and it has been limiting him out of practice...... Lmao.

Caldwell with a fucking gem of a quote:

"He did some things and didn't do some others," Caldwell said.
