So far, Fickell definitely hasn't made a good impression.

This may be just the start of the growing pains of the whole scandal. Our recruiting classes aren't as strong in the coming years as always and if we don't get Urban Meyer or some other big name coach to bring in recruits then we may be doomed for the next 3-5 years.

Case McCoy, Jaxon Shipley and Malcolm Brown are definitely some bright spots for the Longhorns future. It was excellent to see Case McCoy go into a hostile environment in the Rose Bowl and get the big W. He's not a spitting image like Colt, but he isn't the biggest guy with the strongest arm, but he just knows how to make plays.

I was SO happy with the defense as well. Manny Diaz really caused mass confusion for the Bruins with his exotic looks on 3rd and 5+. Standing up defensive ends, shifting linebackers around, they really had UCLA on the ropes from the get go.

Not very well. But it's expected, he did step into one of the most pressured spots in college football as a true freshman with no one to mentor him, a new coach, and his top target and his running back out. I wouldn't expect him to play great.

I was pissed that FSU couldn't pull it off against OU. They just didn't have enough fire power to compete with the Sooners, and it didn't help Manuel had to leave with an injury.
