Patriots Cut Two-Time Pro Bowler Brandon Meriweather

As @ProFootballTalk initially reported, Patriots informed two-time Pro Bowl S Brandon Meriweather they are cutting him.

Why would they cut him? I'm still incredibly confused by this. Will add more thoughts later on after I have more time to think about this. Also, where do you think he'll go now that he's a free agent?

But Meriweather was never really anything more than an average safety... People who watched him play knew that... People who just knew of his name from TV and a high madden rating will think this is a big deal. He was OK, and he did nothing but cause problems by always getting in trouble.
