Dwyane Wade is just like the rest of us in one respect — he’s a Derrick Rose fan.

Wade can also relate to Rose, not just as a Chicago native but also on the court. For years in Miami (after the 2006 title year) it was the Dwyane Wade show and nothing else — he had to create almost all the offense. Teams loaded up on him. It took a toll on him and put a ceiling on how high the Heat could rise until they got him help.

After seeing the Bulls in the playoffs, Wade told ESPNChicago.com they are very close.
“They met us in the Eastern Conference finals, and they were one player away from making it a very, very, very tough series,” Wade told ESPNChicago.com during an event for his “Wade’s World” charities. “Derrick Rose is evolving into a phenomenal player. You could look and see they’re one player away from being there every year….

“It would have to be a player that can take the pressure off him from making every play,” Wade said. “As a point guard, when you have to score so much, and have to make every big shot, and have to make all the passes, eventually it takes a toll on you throughout the season, no matter how phenomenal you are.

“So just someone who can come in and take some of that pressure away. That’s why I was excited not only to play with my friend but excited to play with a guy like LeBron, because it takes some of that pressure away from having to do it year after year after year. It saves you, your body.”
Does anybody really disagree with that?

Chicago needs another guy that can create offense, preferably at the two-guard spot. What the Bulls got last year out of Carlos Boozer is what they will basically get every year. Luol Deng, Kyle Korver and Joakim Noah are good role players on a contending team.

But a second guy to create, something like what Lou Williams did for the 76ers last season off the bench. Put that on the Bulls next season and that rematch with the Heat we all expect would be appointment television. Well, providing we have a playoffs next season.

I don't understand why everyone calls Luol Deng a role player. He's an above average starting three.

Deng is not someone who can take over a game though bro, that's why. Without D-Rose, he's not even close to what Bulls fans especially make him out to be. He's an above-average defender, not overall player. As for the one player away comment, I agree. If that player is Dwight Howard especially, which could be very possibly.

Why can't Deng take over a game?

Deng was in Chicago before Rose was there and he's played just as well without him as he has with him.

Please enlighten me on how the Bulls are going to get Dwight Howard?

Well, let me put it this way, he can't win games for his team. He's made that clear with Rose when they weren't able to compete. Granted, they had a decent year where they lost in the Playoffs, but they just aren't that good without Rose. Deng gets passes, he doesn't score the ball himself. Sorry.

As for how they get Howard....there's something called free agency. You sign star players if you have the money, and the Bulls have the money. They have another max deal they can hand out, but weren't able to lure Wade or LeBron during their free agency last year. Remember?

There's something called that the Bulls aren't actually going to have the money to get Dwight, especially after maxing Rose this off-season.

And that money they had for Lebron or DWade was spent on Boozer and others.

The Bulls don't need a superstar like Howard to take them to the next level. It would certainly help, sure... but what they really need is a legitimate starting 2. Preferably one that can actually dribble the basketball and create his own shot. Someone like that would have done wonders for this team.

Rose is the only one who can probably make his own shots on this team too; he makes everyone else look good for the Bulls. He still needs more help; the Bulls need a scorer. Luol Deng is alright, but they need something else more.

Dude, you need to get your shit straight.

Deng has been putting in work long before Rose was with the Bulls.

He's definitley an above average player, calling him just an above-average defender is a fucking insult.

Dude is good for 16-18 points and 6-8 rebounds a season. He's honestly one of the most underrated players in the game if you ask me.

Exactly, they don't have money for another star. They can get a solid SG, which is honestly all they need. Rose and Noah are still young. If Noah returns to pre-injury form and Boozer and Noah develop just some sort of chemistry, they are gonna be just fine.

Exactly what I said.

Good to know that our new NBA mod is the sharpest tool in the shed though.

He's starting discussion. Can't hate him for that lol. I still think the Bulls can use someone who can create their own shot though. Deng is a great scorer, but I've never seen him as someone who can create his own shot. I don't watch the Bulls much so I don't know. I still think the Bulls will come back stronger next year though. Boozer is getting comfortable.

It's not like he's ever had a good passing PG to really set him up though. Who the hell were his PGs before Rose? Kirk Hinrich? He averaged less dimes than Rose did this past season.

Kirk was pretty good before though. But that's true. I see Deng as more of a third option type of player though.

Kirk has never even averaged 7 assists in a game.

6 a game is pretty average and decent. He had a good rookie season which led me to believe he was going to be one of the better point guards in this league. Luol Deng is gotten over 1000 attempt in FGs with Rose as the point guard for the past 2 seasons. He's only gotten over 1000 once with Hinrich in 06-07. I just think Deng could excel better when he has a good point guard who makes him better. I'm not saying Deng always needs a good point guard, he can probably score at least 20 a game with a bad-average team, but he's better off when Rose is creating shots for him.

Exactly. Deng is one of the best third options in the game. That's why the Bulls need Boozer and Noah on the same page, so Boozer can be that legit #2 option behind Rose.

Couldn't agree more with this. Call me stupid, but I'd rather have Deng on my team than a guy like Danny Granger. Deng isn't a bad shooter and he's a much better defender/team player.

I don't think the Bulls really need to add anyone to get to that the level, they just need to develop more and add some chemistry. I think the Mavs showed this year that you don't really need that number 2 guy to win, you just need a strong team effort, and I think the Bulls are built to do that. They got guys that can step up each game and help Rose win. With a little more time and teamwork they can get there, they don't need to add.
