Profootballtalk reports the Bucs are not -- and never were -- in the mix for free agent Nnamdi Asomugha.
SI's Peter King has also been adamant that the Bucs weren't involved, but the speculation isn't dying down. At the same time as the PFT report, ESPN's John Clayton that the Bucs and are other previously unreported teams are still in the hunt. We suspect that may be agent-driven, though. As of late Thursday night, the Jets were still putting the full-court press on Asomugha, pressuring him into making a decision.
