You guys could have the makings of a real nice defense if you can snatch them both up, you need some corners though

We have good Corners.

Derek Cox has had 2 4 INT seasons back to back, and Rashean Mathis is a proven vet. The reason why the Secondary has been bad was because of Don Carey and Gerald Alexander.

Also, drafting the most physical CB in the draft http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQ3BnlxDjNs doesn't hurt either.

“I might make a call," said Vanden Bosch on Tuesday. "I don’t know who we have interest in. But I made a vow that I would do anything I could to help this team, so if I can make a phone call or meet somebody when they come in that might make a difference, that’s what I’m going to do.”

Vanden Bosch cited "a couple linebackers" he played with in Tennessee that he wouldn't mind seeing signed with the Lions.

Stafford said he "may have" already made some calls.

"I talked to some guys," said Stafford, smiling. "Maybe coaches have me make a couple of calls here and there. It depends on who they want and if I can help. Hopefully I can.”

Didn't you talk a ton of shit about Mathis this past season?

Just because he's physical don't mean he can cover.

Rod Issac can cover though..

But yeah... I do talk shit about Rashean because he actually isn't physcial.. can't hit or tackle. However, he can still cover well enough. I'd look for us to draft a CB in the first 2 rounds next year. but Derek Cox is the truth.

Doesn't matter if they're losing money or not. The Panthers are one of the teams with the most amount of money to spend. Johnson had a big year last year.

so one big year warrants a major contract?

Makes no sense.

I know he's young. To me that is still way too much money for a guy who has been a starting defensive end for only 1 full season.

Let me break it down for you.

He showed alot of promise last year, it was his first year starting 16 games. He was behind Julius Peppers before and still put up 6 and 4 sacks in seasons before. His contract was up, he was a hot player on the market that every team had their eye on. He's young and has major upside to him. The Panthers gave him a little bit more than he would of got on the Market to keep him in a Panthers UNI. But he was going to get major cash anyways. I really don't see why you're acting like he did nothing.
