To clarify, problem isn't over terms. It's that owners called a press conference as if deal was done, putting undue coercion on the NFLPA
FO_DougFarrar

So this is basically over arrogance.

Mort just said on ESPN that the NFLPA just got the new details (after the call ended), could expect a vote sometime tomorrow.

This pisses me off a little bit, why wait? I'm sure it's not past any of the 32 representatives bed time, get their ass on the phone and take a vote tonight.

The players probably want to let everyone assume that the ball is in their court.

The agreement is 500 pages long, I think they should take as much time as the need to.

Man, just get this settled. If it doesnt get settled, there will be riots in almost every city with an NFL team

This was probably a ballsy ploy by the owners to turn the fans against the players in hopes that they would cave due to negative perception by most fans.

From the reactions of most here (including myself, kind of) it seems to have worked... but as far as a deal actually coming out of this, it's not looking promising.

mortreport Chris Mortensen Good news. Players wrapped call, then leadership received final details. Vote can come tomorrow if they can satisfy a finishing detail or 2.

mortreport Chris Mortensen Players want lockout lifted if/after they vote yes, then sign player union cards at team facility, collected by reps and regional directors 31 minutes ago

I was watching the nfl network earlier, and they said that they would have until about Sunday to get something done or else they risk losing the entire first week of the preseason.

There's a lot of money to be lost of that happens. I don't know, I can't see them losing an entire week of games. Too much at stake. At most, they lose the first week.

ESPN is saying the players want the owners to open the doors to them on Saturday, regardless I guess?

The players were first saying how the entire thing was wrong and there was so much stuff in the CBA that they never discussed. Now they need more time to look it over? If they saw something they didn't like they would have immediately turned it down.
