After averaging 29.8 points and nine assists in the second round of the playoffs against the Atlanta Hawks, Derrick Rose’s scoring dipped to 23.4 points per game on 35 percent shooting in the East finals as the Bulls lost to the Heat in five games. Rose now says he should have been in better shape to handle the strain of the postseason.

“I just learned from last season where my conditioning wasn’t up to par at the end of the season,” Rose said. “That’s what I’m working on this summer, getting my conditioning right. There was just fatigue. My body wore down. Just going through the rounds, the first time being there past the first round, it was hard. I’m just learning from it.”

The rest after the season has restored Rose’s health. Teammate Luol Deng also has taught him about the importance of stretching. And Rose knows he’ll face a tougher challenge next season. Because of the success LeBron James had guarding Rose in the conference finals, the MVP expects more teams to use bigger defenders against him.

Close thread after what cheato said.

Those workouts with Russy and Reke and playing for team usa last summer. Knew it would come back to haunt him. He'll be fine though.

To be honest though, can he blame anyone but himself?

Word. Didn't read the article lol.
Haha wow. But yeah, it's gotta be tough when you're a point guard and you have to create shots for yourself because you're the first option.

I think he is going to be fine, but he needs help from the SG position. Its very scary to think how much he can improve which he will. This reminds me a little of the Tim Duncan strategy. Where Duncan limited himself during the season for only important games and the playoffs. Although Rose cant do that to a certain extent, I can see him letting off a little bit at times during the year.

Damn, you're so spot on with this post. Lmao. It's hard to deny the amount of work that Rose was doing for this team, absolute insanity how well he played all year with the team just on his back.

That's what happens when you have to put up the numbers he had too.

Do you think CP and Deron couldn't put up his scoring numbers and better assists numbers if they wanted to? Of course they could.

Paul and Deron are not the scorers Rose is, so no, they can't put up his scoring numbers.

If Paul/Deron are on the Bulls, the Bulls do not have as good a season as they did last year.

Couldn't be anymore wrong.

Derrick Rose attempted 20 shots this season and averaged 25 points.
Chris Paul attempted 12 shots this season and averaged 16 points.
Deron Williams attempted 15 shots this season and averaged 20 points.

Eight and five less attempts, but only nine and five less points per game. If they took as many shots as Derrick did, they'd be the scorer he is AND be more efficient at it. Just this last playoffs Chris averaged 13 shots per game and averaged 22 points.

They just aren't as aggressive as Rose.

Saying they are as good of scorers as Rose is just stupid.

Rose would shoot a higher percentage than he did last season if he wasn't relied upon to be the entire offense.

I'll say it again, since you just ignored that part of my post, Bulls are not a 62 win team with Paul or Deron instead of Rose.

I'll say it again, Chris and Deron could be the scorer that Rose is IF THEY WANTED TO BE. You saying Rose shooting a higher percentage blah blah blah is just stupid, and an excuse.

Paul > Deron > Rose

So in that case, yes they would be a 62 win team, if not more. Better defenders, better facilitators, better vision, better shooters, etc etc.

The year Chris Paul had the highest scoring mentality was in 08-09 in which he averaged only 2 less points per game than Rose, but took four less shots.
