NEW YORK -- Union chief Billy Hunter says owners are locking out players after failing to reach a new collective bargaining agreement, potentially putting the 2011-12 season in jeopardy.

Despite a three-hour meeting Thursday, the sides could not close the enormous gap that remained in their positions. The CBA was due to expire at midnight.

Hunter said the union made a "moderate" new financial proposal, but it wasn't enough to keep the two sides at the bargaining table.

Hunter said the two sides plan to meet again in the next two to three weeks.

I really didn't think it would happen. I must've been in denial or some shit, but back during the middle of the season when people said this was coming I just laughed and said it wouldn't happen.

What the fuck are we suppose to do from October to June without an NBA season?

The chances are greater for an NFL season. You can definitely make that assumption right now in my eyes.

I will be pretty mad if the NBA locks out though.. >_>

NFL Lockout, I won't care what the final agreement is on that one because as long as I get football I'll be happy. This one however, I need them to not fuck up the CBA and stop the CHANCE the keyword there is chance of Chris Paul landing in New York. I can live without CP3 being a Knickerbocker, but boy oh boy would I love it :D

Quite frankly, the players have to concede.

All this guaranteed money is a joke.
