The Suns and Timberwolves have discussed a trade that would sent Steve Nash to Minnesota in a package for the No. 2 overall pick, sources tell ESPN.com.
The talks reportedly haven't advanced because both teams came to the conclusion that Nash doesn't want to play for Minnesota. Still, it's interesting to note that the Wolves are interested in acquiring a point guard of Nash's caliber. Perhaps they understand that Ricky Rubio isn't ready to be handed the keys to the car yet.

Wow.. this is definitely an interesting talk to say the least. Nash obviously doesn't want to play for the T-Wolves and that is that, but regardless.

This.

Like, I believe the rumors that they want to move Flynn out. OK. Then why have they been talking up Rubio coming to play for Minnesota, and then they go and try and pick up Nash?

SMH.

Rubio signed a deal with Minny already... he's gonna be here this next season

Like, they need a center. they have Love at PF, Beas at SF, and Flynn/Rubio at PG.

If they can trade the pick for a SG or C, that would be better than Nash

look, if the even got Iguodala, that would be better than nash, despite nash>AI2

Has this deal been made yet? No, so I don't know how you can say they don't know what they're doing.

And if this were to happen, Flynn would get traded right away. Hell, he might get traded even if they don't do this..

Dude, you CANNOT defend David Kahn. He's been quickly destroying the Wolves for two years now.

I'm not defending him but how can you criticize teams on rumors? Since they already have two SF/PF tweeners, they don't need DWill, and the rest of the draft is a crap shoot. Rubio could be good in the future, but he won't be good next year. You bring in Steve Nash and he'll help you out greatly next year, and help Rubio learn the ropes and the NBA game.

Nash would be the best possible tutor for Rubio.
Question is, is a tutor worth Derrick Williams?

It depends on how they feel with Beasley and Randolph going further. If they like both of those guys, drafting D-Will makes no sense, unless you trade him. They need to win next year as well because they don't have their draft pick.

Yeah but Nash doesn't even want to play there. It just doesn't make much sense to me.

It was Phoenix that approached Minny about this. Only reason Wolves would want Nash is to help Rubio and probably trade bait.

The talks did not last long.
