Despite losing in the NBA Finals, the Miami Heat are the consensus favorites around Las Vegas to lift the Larry O'Brien trophy in 2012.

The other top teams, according to the biggest sports-books, are the LA Lakers, the Dallas Mavericks, the Chicago Bulls and the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Not surprised, but I don't see the Lakers as a top team.

so the four teams from the conference finals and last years champion are the favorites. probably took a fucking genius to figure that one out.

My grandma could've written that, without ever seeing an NBA game. Just taking the four teams that made it the farthest in the playoffs, and add last year's champion to round it out and call them the favorites isn't a big feat.

You both are acting like you misread what he was saying. He wasn't expecting outrageous picks he was saying that everyone and their mother are obviously gonna pick those teams to be on top next season. He was questioning the point of the article not the picks.

Maybe it's just because I was a communication major for two years, but the point of the article was quite clear to me.

The defending champ should always be the early favorite

This really isn't that big of a shock in all honesty. The Heat will be favorites to win the whole thing as long as the three are kept playing for the Heat.

Well yeah the point makes sense I was just saying what buzzy meant by his comment.

I guess reasoning for it would be a better choice of words.
