He is currently ranked number one, and predicted to go first this draft. However their are a lot of questions about his size (weighing only 164 pounds). Do you guys think this could potentially make the Oilers take someone else like Huberdeau or Larsson (a defense is something the Oilers are in need of)?

He is bigger than Patty Kane was (much bigger, actually... and the guy is listed at 172 pounds from what I see, where'd you get 155 from?) so I don't see it being a problem.

I see 170 in a lot of places, but even if it's 164... Who cares? He is 6 feet tall and can easily add to his frame, the kid is only 18 years old.

His size was talked about on Sportscenter because of the combine yesterday, so I thought it would make for good discussion.

If the oilers werent in need of a better defensive setup, i would say Hopkins regaurdless of his size. But honestly, if your a team with Omark, Pajaarvi, Hall AND Eberle... I would want larsson.

They're most likely taking him, but I agree they need Larsson more than anyone with the way their team is looking

They should take Larsson.
I really doubt they would take Huberdeau too.

Their best defender is Whitney with 27 points, if they were to obtain larsson first it would be huge. But I doubt it will happen, sadly.

He had 27 points in 35 games so that stat is a little bit misleading.
Also why do you doubt it will happen? It's either gonna be Larsson or Hopkins.

Cus Hopkins was picked to go first overall. Not saying larsson isnt a possibility for a first overall, but im just saying that usually the player that is said to go first goes first

Personally, if I were in charge of the Oilers, I would be going with Larsson, as they need a defenseman.

Since losing in the cup, the Oilers have been the laughingstock of the NHL with their best season finishing 4th in the division. They are god awful. Take the best player available, regardless of what position he plays... Because it's not like you are one player away; or anywhere close.

That is true, especially with the 2012 looking deep at defense, and the Oilers will most likely have a top pick then too,

I like Larsson, but I just keep picturing Zibanejad underessing him. On the ice lol.

This is really spot on for the situation. Hopkins makes sense for them.

I don't know. I really think the Oilers should take Larsson. They plenty great offensive prospects, now they need defence. Its a tough choice, but Larsson is the right choice for them.
