Quite possibly the best big man this game has seen. It's been good Shaq.

Glad he finally retired. He was starting to become a joke these last few years.

Top 3 center of all-time IMO. I have a feeling the stars we grew up watching are about to start dropping like flies.

AI and Shaq gone. VC, T-Mac, Duncan, Garnett, Kidd on the way out.

He is a top 5 player of all time... To me, he is THE BEST player of all time. So yes, he's ahead of all of those clowns.
Now that's a first...

I'm not sure I would call a guy that can't even shoot a basketball the best basketball player of all-time.

Maybe the most dominant, but the best player, Shaq?

For reals?

i put him behind kareem for sure
i put him ahead of wilt
and i struggle with Hakeem, Russell and him
bill is number one, wilt and shaq are like tied for me. we need to toss mikin in there though. but shaq is also within the top five all time. its tough, lol.

I'm not that sad knowing it was gonna happen either this offseason or the next but he was one of my favorite players growing up. I really enjoyed watching him play over the years.

The league wont ever be the same without a guy like Shaq. It's really sad to see these players you've admired as kids retire now, and it makes growing up and moving on with life feel like crap.

Congratz to Shaq and his amazing career. He is passing down the torch to the young guns:

Sad to see him go. He was the reason I started following the Heat in '04.
One of the best players of all time and arguably the best personality the NBA has seen.

We're gonna see him on TV though, no doubt.

I wanna see the official NBA 2K12 cover to be this:

Same style as 2K11

Shaq in Orlando on the left, in Lakers in the middle, and Celtics on the right

The start, middle, and end, for Shaquille O'Neal

Why would they use him on the Celtics instead of the Heat? His time in Boston was irrelevant lol.

aw Shaq.
I loved him so much when he was a laker
I was devastated when he asked for a trade in 04

but thats over and done with. he's going to be great on TV
and perfect timing as Kevin McHale leaves
get rid of Kenny, Webb/Charles/Shaq = Win
No, Kenny makes that show go just as much as Chuck does. Webber isn't on it every time TNT broadcasts a game anyway.

Oh, and I know he isn't the player he once was, but the NBA got worse yesterday.
