Can't see it happening.Charlie Bernstein of Fox Sports Florida believes there's a "very real possibility" Luke McCown will open the season as the Jaguars' starting quarterback.
McCown outplayed David Garrard last summer before a torn ACL ended his season. Bernstein theorizes that Garrard will have to take a paycut from $8 million, since he's "clearly not in the future plans of the organization." We're not sure hot-seat coach Jack Del Rio will be so quick to cut ties with a quarterback that kept his team in contention deep into last season.
If anybody will be outplaying Garrard it'd be Gabbert. McCown will be the backup.
Either Garrard will take a pay cut, or will be cut.
