NFL.com - Clinton Portis would like the chance to play for the Giants next season, which would allow him to face the Redskins twice.

"I would love that opportunity," Portis told SiriusXM NFL Radio.

Portis, 29, noted that the Giants pound the football with their 1-2 running back punch of Ahmad Bradshaw and Brandon Jacobs.

"I just need to be able to come out and show what I'm capable of," Portis said. "... I think it's revitalizing to have an opportunity and still have the drive and still have the hunger to go out and prove people wrong."

I do not want to see Portis in an opposing NFC East uniform. It will be heartbreaking enough not having him in DC. :\

I would take a chance on him, it would bring back a 3 headed monster that we used to have sort of speak. And Portis would obviously would pumped up to face the Redskins. Although Portis is known for saying stupid crap to the media, I think the guys in the locker room would make sure he is put in his place.

Portis said on NFL Radio the other day that he was hoping he'd join the Saints before the draft and that we were the #1 team on his list. His reasons were that 1) he grew up in Mississippi and was a lifelong Saints fan, 2) he wanted to go to an offense where the QB was the centerpiece, running everything-- a QB like Drew, and 3) just wanted to be somewhere where he could contribute in a steady rotation. He thought the Saints were the perfect situation for him.

Thats not going to happen.

Saints aren't going to sign a RB.
