In his post-game media session after the Heat eliminated the Celtics, LeBron James apologized to Cavs fans and the hometown city he left behind last summer.

James indicated that the primary reason he chose to sign with the Heat was to play alongside two other All-Star players, which James felt was necessary in order to finally be able to overcome the Celtics in the playoffs.

"I apologize for the way it happened," James said, referring to The Decision. "But I knew that this opportunity was once in a lifetime ... In order for me to continue to continue to move on in my career ... That team that we just defeated (referring to Boston) -- had to go through them at some point."

James indicated that he did not feel he had the supporting talent in Cleveland to be able to get by the Celtics.

Dwyane Wade, who as usual was seated besides James during the post-game press conference, showed some surprise at James' comments. When James said the word "apologize," Wade's posture changed noticeably and he looked intently at James as he completed his thought.

The funnier part is when he says "I loved my old teammates (in Cleveland) but I couldn't do it on my own"...thats a big ol diss to them.

Still don't think he needs an apology for making a life choice haha.

LeBron felt it was necessary to team with two All-Stars to defeat an old Celtics team? Jeeze... He must not have much confidence in himself.

Or he didnt have the confidence in the Cavs front office to put guys around him that could perform in the playoffs not just the regular season.

Doesn't mean he had to team up with two All-Stars... There were plenty of other attractive destinations for him to go play.

The writer of this article is an idiot.

I do hope that beating the Celtics was his only goal when he signed with the Heat, though... as the writer seems to claim.

Well he went to the team that he thought would give him the best chance of winning a title. Why would he go to a different team that he didnt think he would've had a better chance of winning the title with. He thought teaming up with two All-stars was his best chance to win a title so he chose that.

The hell does it matter who he teamed up with.
He made a life choice, and decided to play with a good friend.

Moving on.
Those still complaining, cry him a river.

All I commented on was how the article says that LeBron felt it was necessary to team up with two All-Stars to defeat an old Celtics team. IMO, that means LeBron isn't too confident in himself, because we saw in this series that the Celtics are old. I personally believe LeBron could have beaten the Celtics without teaming with Wade/Bosh, he could have done it teaming with 1 All-Star Rose/Amare/whoever in another city or staying in Cleveland and having help brought to him. All I'm saying is that it wasn't necessary for the Big Three to be created to beat Boston, that's it.

Obviously my comment was taken completely out of context. Again, I will return to only posting in the sim league forum. Talking sports on this board has become a joke.

Yeah, let's go to a worse team so I don't hurt my image. People make way too much about being the man on a team, it doesn't mean anything. When you're the best player in the NBA and you're playing with another top 3 player, it's Batman and Superman, not Batman and Robin.
