Ravens DC Chuck Pagano indicated that he plans to use No. 27 overall pick Jimmy Smith like the Jets do Darrelle Revis, allowing Smith to shadow opposing No. 1 wide receivers.
Pagano gave a glowing review of Smith, and isn't wasting any time. "You're gonna match up with everyone's finest," Pagano told Smith. "We've had elite shutdown corners in the past, and we just got the next one. The next great Raven cover corner." The Ravens don't have any other surefire starting cornerbacks under contract for 2011, so Smith will be thrust into the No. 1 role.

This is not very surprising to say the least. Smith has always excelled greatly in his coverage, and playing him in that kind of role is where he'll be best suited in the NFL. He's going to be asked to be the main guy in coverage, and in a few years time will tell if he's the right fit for the Ravens.

Don't know if he's ready for that yet, but he's definitely their best CB so they don't really have any other choice. I'd assume they're going to give him safety help over the top though

Webb is a decent corner, but I think they've kind of made their bed and have to sleep it in now with this pick. Jimmy Smith is going to have to be that guy for them.

I agree some wide-outs in the NFL are going to abuse the kid early on, but time will tell how good he is for this kind of role.

Hopefully that's A.J. Green, lol.
