49ers second-round QB Colin Kaepernick plans to work with Stanford star Andrew Luck to learn Jim Harbaugh's offense during the lockout.
It's a great plan, and it speaks to the initiative and drive of both young QBs. Kaepernick is moving to Santa Clara, near 49ers headquarters as well as the Stanford campus. "I'm going to try and pick [Luck's] brain as much as I can," said Kaepernick, "and try to get a jump-start into this offense." Kaepernick wasn't given a 49ers playbook, but there's no stopping him from making a trip to Kinkos to copy it from a veteran teammate. The head-start will help Kaepernick later this summer, but Alex Smith is still the heavy favorite to open the season as the starter.

I thought this was pretty damn interesting. Pretty much a testament to Andrew Luck and his smarts, as well as his character, this is awesome.

Andrew Luck is awesome in all regards. He's a great QB and a great guy. If you are going to pick anyones brain, Andrew Luck is the right guy.

I like Colin Kaepernicks' chances of succeeding even more now. Guy can play, and we know how smart Luck is and what he is capable of doing. It's great to see Luck already taking the mentoring role to help out someone hoping to succeed at the next level. I like that.

My guess is that you won't be "lol'ing" when that doesn't happen. Andrew Luck is a monster.

Seriously, everyone here needs to hop of Kap's tip for like two seconds.

I'm not even a fan of him

I'm just saying it would be funny if Luck teaches him the offense then beats him

This is only good in my mind. Colin will now be familiar with the system he's going to be in and Luck is showing his character.

Good luck running shit

I'm surprised that this isn't against NCAA regulations.

my first thoughts exactly.
You know the NCAA will be looking into this.

They have the biggest stick up their ass in any, and every situation.

Whether it is tampering or not, the NCAA will definitely get their nose in this. It's how they roll.

Yeah, seems kinda weird to believe that Kaep would go to Luck and ask him to train him...but then again the coach could of set it all up during that day where the lockout was ruled out.

And it got annoying real fast, like.. The guy was getting hyped on SI way too much.

I still firmly believe he won't be the best QB of this class. Probably not even top three.
