He can't shoot FTs for shit, but he is actually pretty effective when he plays even to this day. (Shaq)

Boston has two different teams. The team with Shaq, and the team without Shaq.

Well, on the season he averaged over 20 minutes per game with 9.2 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 1.1 bpg, while shooting .667 from the field. Yes, he's old/slow as fuck, and always hurt, but when he's on the court he still makes the team better. With him on the floor, they are 8 points better than when he's off.

im not denying hes still a "force". he is. if healthy and gives up 18-22mpg he will help. but to me, hes an icon for our generation of nba fans. to see him get this amount of time or lack of, is kinda sad.

i admit, he's a great presence inside + alters shot, but now they don't have a "real" center.

They didn't get rid of Perkins because of Shaq... They got rid of him because they probably thought he'd never be the same player again.

I think Shaq is the best player of all time (yeah, a bit out there...) and it is sad to see him deteriorate like this, I agree.

and he was asking for ridiclous numbers too.

Jermaine O'Neal has done just as much as Perk would in these playoffs

Interesting question here...

Did we as fans overrated Perkins defense..people used to talk about how he played Dwight as good as you could play him. But that was before D12 started working with the Dream.
