Brandon Roy was Portland's last substitute in Tuesday's Game 2 loss at Dallas.

“I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a little hurt, or disappointed,'' Roy said. “But the biggest thing is to keep moving, to try and keep my spirits up. But it's tough man. I just …. I just always thought I would be treated better. That was a little disappointing for me.''

Roy played a scoreless 7:59, missed his only shot from the field, missed both of his free throws, and made one turnover.

Roy said he believes he can still help this team, but he can't do it the way Nate McMillan used him in Game 2.

“I come in the last sub of the first quarter … then OK, I'm in there for (2:36), then I play, then it's the end of the quarter,'' Roy said. “Then I start the second and Bam! I'm right back on the bench again. I mean, I don't know what I could have done! Then I sit, and he puts Patty and Rudy in before me. I know physically I have to play, but mentally, how do I just go …''

Roy said he and McMillan had not spoken, and that he didn't plan on approaching McMillan on the team's long flight home.

“I think my nature I've never been one to confront. Never been the one to create controversy,'' Roy said. “I think coach is comfortable with his guys and it's hard for him to get me back in there. If that's what he is comfortable with, then I'm going to try and support the team. And if he can get us past (the first round), then he can. I just always thought I would be treated a little better, but … it is what it is. I'll be all right. I'll go home see my kids, and be happy.''

He has no meniscus in one of his knees. Goes from being top 3 SG in the league to nothing because of it. I never wanna see this happen to another player, amazing career going and then have it destroyed by an injury.

But yeah he's gotta accept the fact he's not gonna be the same player anymore, he made his living off his ability to drive and make quick cuts but he can't do that anymore. Sucks but that's the reality. All he can do now is hope he can at least get healthy enough to become a decent role player and still have a good game every now and then.

Holy shit, you people don't think he'll rebound? Come on, now. He'll come back around.

You're kidding yourself if you think he'll rebound back to all-star form. Is there a chance he could still be a solid player? Of course, if he gets his confidence back he'll still be able to be effective. Will he be the same as before? Hell no.

His knees are fucked. I feel sorry for him, he could've been one of the best for Portland.

I understand what they're all "saying," but I would never disregard one of the best SGs in the game before he had a chance to rehab over the offseason.

this guy^ LOL

you cant rehab having no cartilage in your knees
I understand the cartilege is gone, but let's let his career pan out before we make such ridiculous assumptions. I expect at least another All-Star season out of him, if he can somehow find a way to deal with the pain.

He has a shot to be a solid player still for sure. The last two games he's been amazing, I don't expect him to do this consistently or make the all-star team again but again if he can do this occasionally he'll surprise some people and still have a solid career.
