When the Oklahoma City Thunder acquired Kendrick Perkins, the feeling around the league was that the move was made with the Los Angeles Lakers in mind. The Lakers eliminated the Thunder in the first round of last year's playoffs.

In an interview with ESPN The Magazine after the trade, Perkins said the Lakers were "yesterday's news". He also said, "I don't like Pau Gasol or Phil Jackson. Phil is arrogant. Pau is soft. Kobe [Bryant] tries to bring out his toughness, but he's still soft."

"Certain players talk too much from my perspective," Gasol responded when asked about Perkins' comments. "They should worry about their own stuff."

It's the second time this month Gasol has had to respond to an opponent calling him soft. New York Knicks forward Amar'e Stoudemire said the same thing at a recent public appearance in New York City.

"I'm way past my own things or remarks from people," Gasol added "You can't control that. Certain guys have the right to speak and you can't stop them from doing that."

yeah pau is soft, but pau is also right. perk needs to shut it
dude's a career 6/6 guy. since being with OKC he's averaging 5/8 and barely a block
yes he's more of a body defender blah blah blah. all im saying is, he needs to shut up

really hope the lakers play the thunder in the playoffs

^^^^^^

This all the way

Regardless of if he's soft or not, every single one of you would love to have him starting on your team
I've always loved Pau, but I personally wouldn't want him on my team for two reasons. we have no slot for him and he wouldn't fit into our system. he's a great fit for a team like the Lakers where he currently is and should stay if you ask me. he often gets overlooked for what he does because some guy with 24 on his back, but he's on the team he should be on.

STAT at C and Pau at PF is better than anything you could currently throw out there

i'd much rather have a Dwight-Amare combo BC....

and pm7, i really hate gasol, so no i dont want him on my team at all. He's good, but i'd rather have a more "powerful" PF, like a Garnett, Stoudemire, Love, Jefferson, etc.

I was talking about things that they currently had on their team. Dwight isn't going to the Knicks, ever.

And SMH at calling STAT, Love, and Al-Jeff powerful bigs

How would Pau go to the Knicks, but never Dwight?

And they're much more "powerful" post players than Gasol. Gasol is soft as hell

Nobody said Pau to the Knicks was feasible. It was a hypothetical situation due to a Knicks fan saying he wouldn't want him on his team. Dwight wasn't relevant to the discussion at all because that's not what we were talking about

lol calling KG, Love, Al Jeff and Amare powerful
rofl

Love plays no D and just shoots 3's and jumpers. yeah he gets rebounds, um, so does Pau. Pau is top 5
AlJefferson is small. he's good, but he's not powerful
Amare is the black Pau Gasol. tats and being black help mask his softness for people like you

and KG flat out blows (of course if you're talking 10 years ago KG, then obviously we'd all take him over Pau)
