+1 he is not a leadoff hitter or middle of the lineup guy.

He's a double play machine in the two spot and Gardner is everything a lead-off man should be.

Swisher has spent some time batting 2nd, he couldn't be any worse.

Swisher has never been a real good contact hitter. He is also slow.

He is much better suited for the bottom of the lineup.

At this point in his career, Jeter isn't much better in either aspect.
