The Miami Heat are moving towards signing Eddy Curry for the playoffs, front office sources told Yahoo! Sports.

Heat president Pat Riley made plans to bring the 7-footer to Miami early next week for a workout and a medical physical with the ultimate objective to sign him, sources said.

Curry’s weight and personal problems have derailed what had been a productive career. It is believed Curry still weighs more than 350 pounds.

One league source estimated the probability of Miami signing Curry at “better than 50-50.” The Heat would need to cut a player for the playoffs, with rookie Dexter Pittman as a likely candidate to be waived.

Meh, that'd help I guess but I don't think they'd improve too much from having him on the team honestly

He can't be any worse than Magloire or Anthony.

Yeah he used to be good but I don't like it for the Heat. I think it might take 2-6 months to actually be fully healthy for Eddy Curry! I mean, 350 pounds is way too much and he's REALLY fat man! He needs to work his ass off to lose as much weight as possible before going on a basketball court. Fitness, work out, basketball until playoffs and then Heat should look at him and see if he'll be capable in playing. I think Heat should give more time to Joel Anthony who is a really good hustler and a great defender in my point of view.

Maybe Riley knows something that we don't, but I highly doubt he's in any shape to play effectively.
They better not cut Pittman.

I've missed this guy. Hope he can start losing weight and get back to playing. He was good when he tried.

According to his info page, it says he weighed 295. Now it's reported he's at 350+??

I'd sign him. But i'd tell him he has to lose so much weight first. Then after we sign him he has to lose so much weight. And if he goes over a certain weight, it terminates his contract.

If he wants back in the NBA bad enough or money, he would.

if you truly think that, then smh@u. he weighs close to 400 pounds, no way he drops enough to be able to play a solid roll.

dont get me wrong, im sure he'll play again and be an ok role player but hes never going to be a decent player. hes a tubolard.
