The NBA will investigate Jay-Z’s visit with the Kentucky basketball team after Sunday’s 76-69 win against North Carolina in the NCAA Tournament East Regional Final, reports CBSSports.com’s Ken Berger.

Jay-Z, rapper and part-owner of the New Jersey Nets, might have violated NBA rules because Kentucky has multiple potential first-round draft picks on its roster.

Berger equates the incident to Celtics GM Danny Ainge sitting with Kevin Durant's mother during the 2007 Big 12 tournament. Ainge and the Celtics were fined $30,000 for the infraction.

Go ahead and investigate!

Apparently you can host illegal draft workouts (Knicks) and all you get is a fine that is about what Outlaw makes every 5 games.

I hope Jay-Z handed them all folders on the new Brooklyn Arena, a business card, and an invitation to the Nets All-Star All-Kings Workout this summer.

The NCAA should be investigating this if anyone should.

Him and World Wide Wes were both there, and it's because of Calipari basically.

i know he only owns like .02% of the team, but it's still weird
but i guess the game was in NJ

like last year when the Cavs played the Knicks, he was courtside. Im like, i know you like LeBron, but that just looks bad

idk, maybe im in the wrong

Guess, When you own part of a team. You have to be a fan, from a distance. Unless, It's your team.

Lol this is so stupid. First of all, even if he is found guilty all he has to do is pay the small fine. Second, I'm pretty sure he would have went to the other teams locker room to congratulate them if they won as well.

To do what though? He can't control where they go in the draft, He can't even control who the Nets pick

Nets can't even pick anyone worth mentioning considering their 1st belongs to the Jazz

Who knows what purpose he was there for, but he was there to be in the Kentucky locker room, not UNC if they won.

In case you didn't notice, John Calipari is loved by celebrities all over the place, and gets all the top recruits.. He's got the support of LeBron on his team (thats where Jay Z comes into play, not to mention LeBron got one of his friends on Calipari's coaching staff...).

I think its been blown a bit out of proportion. Most of these kids are thinking their meeting Jay Z the rapper..not Jay Z the owner of the nets.
