CBS Sports Ken Berger reports that negotiations to sell the Detroit Pistons to billionaire Tom Gores are far enough along that the matter is expected to be brought up at the league's Board of Governors meeting April 14-15 in New York.

Gores has been negotiating with Pistons owner Karen Davidson for some time.

League approval will come as a welcome relief to the Pistons' basketball operations department who have been virtually paralyzed awaiting sale of the team. Detroit is the only team in the league that hasn't completed a single transaction this season.

Was just going to post this. Thank you God. Looks like this summer will be very busy/exciting for us Pistons fans.

While current Pistons' president Joe Dumars has never been on the hot seat under current ownership, there is a growing sense Gores will look to clean house once he owns the team and that could mean both Dumars and current head coach John Kuester could be out this summer as Gores looks to take the team in a new direction.

If Gores fires both Dumars and Kuester, he deserves a statue in front of the Palace.

Hopefully the Pistons can pull a Hornets and hire young minds that are considered some of the best out there.

Karen Davidson's Frustration Grows As Sales Of Pistons Drags On

Despite reports that a deal to sell the Detroit Pistons to billionaire Tom Gores was near completion, some close to the negotiators say that no agreement is imminent.

After two months of exclusive negotiation between Gores and Karen Davidson, widow of long-time Piston's owner Bill Davidson, one source close to Davidson said that she feels as though she has lost control of the process, causing her to feel frustration and fatigue.

Part of her concern is that Gores continually requires more information, yet too few details of the agreement are in place.

Damn Karen, it must be HARD AS FUCK to sell a team for MILLIONS when you haven't worked a day in your FUCKING LIFE to deserve any of that fucking money in the first place.

I honestly hope this bitch dies. You gold digging, cunt, piece of shit.
You are a disgrace to Detroit, the state of Michigan, and the NBA.

An agreement between Karen Davidson and Tom Gores for the purchase of the Pistons is getting closer, according to sources familiar with the process.

But the sources believe it's doubtful that the deal will be reached in time for next week's NBA Board of Governors meeting.

They think the process will probably stretch through the summer and maybe even into autumn.

That means the NBA will likely not approve the sale of the Pistons until the next Board of Governors meeting in October.

Tom Gores and his investment firm, Platinum Equity, have announced a "definitive agreement" to purchase the Detroit Pistons and Palace Sports and Entertainment.

The purchase, from Pistons owner Karen Davidson, includes the NBA team, The Palace of Auburn Hills, DTE Energy Music Theatre and the operating rights to Meadow Brook Music Festival.

Terms of the agreement were not announced. The sale is subject to review and approval by the NBA's Board of Governors.
"We are pleased to welcome Tom Gores as the new owner of the Detroit Pistons and Palace Sports and Entertainment," Davidson said in a release. "Just as my late husband, Bill Davidson, was the face of the Pistons, I am confident that Tom will bring the same energy, dedication and love to this organization. I look forward to seeing Tom follow in Bill's footsteps, and carry on his legacy."
ABOUT FUCKING TIME!! THANK YOU TOM GORES.
