The words of Knicks' beat writer Frank Isola:

How come the Nuggets don’t need a training camp to get their act together after trading their leading scorer and starting point guard?
I know, I know. The Nuggets didn’t have to face Cleveland and Indiana twice. Huge break for Denver right there
I love this nonsense about how the Melo trade wasn’t made for this year. Clue me in. What year is it made for so I can plan accordingly
Knicks tickets for the rest of the season should be free since the Melo trade isn’t for this year
I sincerely hope that Amare’s knees get the memo that the Melo trade was made for years down the road.
Why don’t we keep Amar’e in bubble wrap until the year arrives that the Melo deal was made for.
Give Knicks credit. Told fans they’re sacrificing 2 years for LeBron. Now, saying just wait til 2012 & fans are buying it. Pure genius

Lol @ the Knicks. Really wish we were playing them in the 1st round. Don't like the fact that the 76ers have Elton on Bosh and Iggy on LBJ/Wade.
The good part is that the team is starting to peak at the right time. Everybody is playing their role really good.

Yeah, you guys are definitely a team I don't wanna see because of the matchups.

Really hoping we can take advantage of the Celtics struggling a bit and grab that 2 seed

Oh ok, I was thinking he was talking about a player. But the only name coming to mind was Larry Drew lol.

Anthony Randolph finally getting PT for the wolves. Peja also had 16 for the Mavs.

dunking on the same player who blocked you, in ot, with the game in the balance, en route to a triple double >

i hate that play
he didnt have to swat it that damn hard into the stands
just gave the clippers the ball back

i have this little saying i guess you can call it
if a player blocks someone, and the team doesnt score, it's a great play.
if a player blocks someone, and that team scores either right after which usually happens, or during that possession, "don't count. that block don't count"

but only if it happens right away, or at least under 12 seconds. block has to be relatively fresh

counts in the numbers, but not in my book
just like if you break someone's ankles and dont score. takes away some of the luster

that is the dumbest shit ive heard, sorry but it is.

he blocked the ball that hard because he can. nothing at all wrong with that. that statement made you sound like such a homer. lol. it really does.

if blake blocked someone or bynum like that, you would be bragging like a mofo.

now, if you block someone you need to get the ball back because if the other team scores after the block then the block is whatever. you NEED to clean up the glass/missed/blocked shot. but that type of swat is a statement swat, if you lightly tap the ball for a block then they arent scared to go to the hole.

i hate those blocks
usually guys like mcgee who can leap do it, and guys who never block do it

just tap it to your teammate. you blocked the shot, great, but they still get the ball back when you swat it into the 10th row

i understand what you're saying about statement, but it's just becoming the norm and shouldnt be. they say bill russell used to block but keep it inbounds. bynum does that too since you mentioned him. thats the better basketball play

if you're going for the LeBron style chase down block, yeah go ahead and swat it. sometimes you have to swat it hard for a normal style block. but if you can block it to your teammate for a potential fast break, do it. mcgee in this instance should have done that

it is the better basketball play. but when you can get up like that to block the ball you block it like that. he coulda grabbed the ball(which would have looked better to be honest)..

i used to get up to block shots like that when i played 24/7(obviously not like that but..). i loved blocking the shot like that. you know when you can and when you should.

honestly, shot blockers dont always think to swat it to a teammate. you slip to the help side and stop the drive how you can and if you swat it hard oh well.

i know all about block the shot and then hustling to get the ball, then you run the floor and get open for the score on offense. but you get a swat like that, then the they wont drive the lane as much. get a little block theyll still try, regardless of how you get the ball and score.

it's a showboat move
yeah look at me i blocked it into the 10th row when i could have just swatted it to my teammate
a block's a block pugz. if you get a ton of blocks, they're not going hard at the rim regardless. if a guy like shannon brown blocks your shot into the 10th row like he would if he had the chance, the opposition will just say lucky block

it is a showboat move, IVE BEEN SAYING THAT - hence the blocking it that way to let them know not to drive the lane the same..

youre just salty over the fact it happened to blake. lol.

look, i love blake too, but that block was still better then his dunk and a hell of a block..

that block is just like hitting a clutch shot and waving your hands or dunking hard and yelling. those gestures ares saying "guard me better". this block was saying dont come in weak.

not even about blake
im talking the play. it's been happening a lot in the NBA the past few years and it's stupid

doing stuff over a clutch shot is stupid too
lol last year kobe did the sam cassell big balls dance after a big shot and the lakers still lost. he looked like a dumbass

and the yelling after a dunk. holy shit
im ok with it, but durant and westbrook need to chill. these guys yell too damn much over everything. annoying as hell. i wish charles oakley was around to knock them out

A block is a block. You're exactly right mexi, so I don't get why I should matter how hard he hit it... Obviously if the block looks more flashier, it's going to give him more energy. If he blocks it softly, the Clippers can recover the ball. I don't find anything wrong with it. It's big defensive plays like that which give a team more energy on the offensive end.
