After Deron Williams’ wrist took another jarring blow Friday night, coach Avery Johnson said the team is going to have to re-evaluate its position on his status.

Williams admitted part of the reason he has been insistent on playing despite the pain in the wrist is the fact that the Nets were in the hunt for a playoff spot.

But with the loss Friday night to the Bucks, and with Indiana beating the Bulls in OT tonight, the Nets find themselves seven games out of the final playoff spot in the East, with 15 games to play.

And given the odds of actually making it to the playoffs, Williams seemed resigned to accepting that shutting things down for the season may be the best move for him now.

With his play lately, we're better off sitting him.

Let him heal up and give it a real go at it next year.

when i said "sucks for nets fans" i mean the injury which is going to end his season and caused him to play poorly the past few games

Well looks like the Nets will have 1 shot of changing Deron's mind instead of 2.

Changing his mind for what?

How do YOU know what he wants to do?

Change his mind that the Nets can make the playoffs. Theyre not making it this year, so next year is their last chance to make it because Deron's decision will come down to winning.

Humphries has picked it up since we got him as well. The Nets have a pretty good core moving forward if Williams stays after next year.

Why not go see him play vs the Rockets for $0.89? Because that's how much the tickets are going for on Tuesday.
