Vikings CB Chris Cook was arrested Saturday evening in Lynchburg, Virginia for allegedly pulling out a handgun during a fight with another man.
As ProFootballTalk.com point out last month, the league office has no sway over player conduct and drug testing during a lockout. They "forfeit" the ability to discipline Cook, so he won't face a suspension. The NFL could attempt to punish Cook retroactively, though he'd have a strong case in dispute.

What has been with the whole handgun incidents this week? Hah. I know Merriweather doesn't appear like he did anything, but a lot of handgun bullshit lately..

Wow, My favorite Viking too. Had high hopes for him. Time to drop Griffen and Cook. Cook don't drop the soap.

Why would you have high hopes for him? I've never seen anything out of him that would make me believe he's anything more than a borderline #2 corner

Never really was a fan of Cook tbh.

Its sad now that since its a lockout, the players can do whatever they want and get away with it.

Yeah, but this means they can now do whatever drug they'd like. Because no drug testing either.

They can get punished by the law, but yeah, this kind of stuff won't be spotted by the league. Guys are gonna do what the fuck they want now.
