NFL.com - The Jets announced Wednesday that they have waived former first-round draft pick Vernon Gholston.

The defensive end was the sixth overall pick in the 2008 draft out of Ohio State and endured three disappointing seasons in New York.

Jets shouldn't have drafted a DE they wanted to move to OLB at #6.. You do that with picks in the later rounds, not top of the first round but he didn't have much success at DE either. I think he could be decent as a 4-3 DE.

Partially true.

The Combine can answer a lot of questions, but when people put a lot of stock into it, it's dangerous.

Gholston was just a flat out bust. No work ethic. Lazy. Meh.
