LOVE this deal for OKC. Exactttttttttly what they needed, a legit center. Can't wait to see how they do come playoff time. As for everyone saying 'Sheed is going back to Boston, he's not. He might come back but Boston won't be signing him. They already have plans on signing Troy Murphy after he is bought out...
Agreed but anyways
Celtics president Danny Ainge said on WEEI he and coach Doc Rivers "agonized'' over trading Kendrick Perkins.
intresting..

Doc Rivers admitted that trading Kendrick Perkins was difficult emotionally and it is unclear how it will pay off for the Celtics on the floor. Boston dealt Perkins to the Thunder in a trade that brought back Jeff Green as the main acquisition.

"The bottom line is: We’ll see," said Rivers. "We think we did pretty well today... Whoever is the single best player in the trade, that's who you try to get. Whether that's Jeff Green or Perk, we don't know that. Krstic is a good piece for us as well. He spreads the floor, which I think is great for Rondo. Jeff Green spreads the floor, too...

"We needed to get that [small forward or power forward] swing guy. One of the things I was just saying is that this gives us the ability -- like the year we won it -- at times we can go small with Green at the 4 and Kevin at the 5, with Paul and Ray spreading the floor. We've been trying to get that lineup ever since [Jame] Posey left. You forget how many times we did that in the playoffs, which was every fourth quarter. We haven't been able to duplicate that and, in some ways, it's hurt Rondo."

Boston will now rely heavily on Shaqulle O'Neal.

"Shaq's a key component of this," said Rivers. "We need to get Shaq healthy and Shaq will be healthy. If Shaq plays great, this deal was actually really good for us. That's on Shaq. We have to get Shaq in great shape, get him ready, get him healthy. He's really going to be important for us in the playoffs."

Rasheed Wallace won't launch a comeback with the Celtics and will remain retired, according to a report by Larry Ridley of WHDH in Boston.

"Former Celtics C/F Rasheed Wallace tells me he's staying retired, told me "gave 15 years" to the NBA," Ridley wrote on his Twitter page.

yeah sheed isnt coming back

Murphy or Powe will be here most likely (im hoping Powe)

but as they said on ESPN, this is more of a "beating the Heat and Knicks move". When the Heat pulls out Bosh-James-Miller-Wade-Arroyo, Boston can answer with Garnett-Green-Pierce-Allen-Rondo

personally, i somewhat understand giving up Perkins for Green. Robinson, not really. Erden? What are you doing

(on the bright side, Chris Johnson had 3 blocks last night :D )

Green does not want the MLE

if guys like Josh Smith, Luol Deng, Andre Iguodala could get big money, he's going to ask for similar

Smith career: 15/7/3
Iggy: 16/6/5
Deng: 16/7/2

Green: 16/6/3 the past 3 years playing out of position

i feel bad for Green. brought into the wrong team to begin with. He doesnt fit with Durant. he needs to play SF, he's not damn PF

and now he has to go to the bench and play behind Pierce.
one day hopefully he gets a shot. he's good. 24 years old, he doesnt deserve this

They said they will probably play Green a lot at the 4. That what Rivers wanted to do.

they want him to play the 3/4 so he can stretch the floor.

if they get jeff for 6/30 thats a damn steal. but hed be crazy to only ask for that little. dude has never really gotten a real chance like mexi said. i never liked him in okc, he can do so much more. and really a lot of people doubt him now.

He might take less money to be on the Cs, since they do have a legitimate shot at championships.

lol. you dont think that far down the road do you?

they wont be contending for much longer. a 6/30 deal is ripping himself off considering the last four years of that deal will likely mean lower seed/lottery.

Yeah but look at it this way. They will compete for the next few seasons. They can win a championship in any of those seasons. Once players start retiring, this team turns into Rondo's and Green's, which i'm guessing he would like a team being "his."
