The Los Angeles Clippers and the Cleveland Cavaliers are in discussions about a trade that would send guard Baron Davis to Cleveland for guard Mo Williams, according to league sources. The deal is not close to being finalized and the teams will continue talking Thursday before the 3 p.m. deadline.
Davis did not dress for Wednesday’s game against New Orleans with what the team said was a sore knee. Williams returned for Cleveland just before the All-Star break after missing 13 games with a hip injury.
Though slumping from the floor of late, Davis has played much better of late for the Clippers after starting the season at odds with coach Vinny Del Negro when he came to camp out of shape.
The Cavaliers would be able to absorb Davis’ $13 million salary by virtue of the large trade exception they received from Miami in the LeBron James sign-and-trade deal.
:rotfl:

UPDATE!!!!!!!!!
Clippers have agreed in principle to trade G Baron Davis to Cavaliers for G Mo Williams, sources tell Y! Sports.

Hmmmm not sure if Williams will be a good playmaker for the Clips, he's more of a scorer...but who knows maybe this will work for them. I bet Davis is pissed. He was finally starting to do good to.

Not that big of a deal from my standpoint. Mo won't do much different then Baron has done for the Clips and they'll probably continue to be a bottom feeder. Same goes for Baron and the Cavs. I just like seeing jersey's change, so I ain't even mad lmao.

Well I'm guessing the Cavs want to stick with Sessions at point. He's been playing real well.

well it's Mo/Jamrio for Baron/1st round pick 2011

so i guess it's worth taking on Baron for a pick in a shitty draft. good job cleveland
lol if the clippers dont even want that pick....

they act like their first isn't worse then the clippers, I guess they're looking to get two "steals" in a very small class from a talent standpoint.

clips save 13M
sure they get rid of a 1st rounder, but they have how many young guys on their team? worth giving up a pick in a weak draft.
now they will have money to keep gordon with griffin, and maybe even be players for Deron or Russell Westbrook or Chris Paul o_O

that might be super best case scenario lol. they're going to have money though
cant believe some team was crazy enough to take Baron. not worth it for that pick imo

as for today, Baron is always hurt anyways. he was playing good ball lately, but Mo Will will be fine. another 3 ball threat for blake to dish to

Umm, we get a first round pick from a trash team. No top free agents are going to Cleveland/Clippers, so I don't think it matters about saving money. And we didn't even have to use our TPE, this was a slam dunk. Just have to hope the lottery falls our way.

We paid a lot of money for a top 10 pick and we could even do it again with the TPE. Don't see what's wrong with that as long as you don't have a cheap owner.. But I guess you're not used to it because the Lakers don't need to worry about making these moves since they can get anyone they want.

Sterling is always gonna be cheap..

Even though it's not the best draft who are you to judge college players when all you ever know/talk about are former players son's playing?

cavs getting that pick and keeping the TPE made this deal great for them.

And the Clippers somehow found a way to fuck up again. Giving up your top 10 pick to move a contract? This draft is better than last years and is top heavy, Cavs could be looking at Kyrie and Sully

Baron and Coach Scott didn't get along in New Orleans, that's why he got traded. This will get fun.

cheato, im not judging college players. i just said it's a weak draft. and shitty, but im not calling out the players. you said yourself, it's weak. no harm no foul

and anyways, you guys are missing it
yes the clippers gave up a draft pick. they never do that. if they dont even want the pick, it tells you something

this is a weak draft class. sure it's a top 10 pick potentially, but they dont need another young player. Blake/Bledsoe/Gordon/DeAndre/Aminu. thats a young potential starting 5 right there.

the money saved will give them enough to lock up Gordon who will be a restricted FA
it shows the clippers are sold on this team and ready to start building a winner around their core. and go ahead and say no star will sign with them, but the west is weaker and if next season Griffin and Gordon continue to improve, the team is still in L.A. guys, they could become an attractive spot...

and they still have Kaman's expiring for next season to play around with.
it's a good move

and for the cavs. sure. another draft pick. baron is going to be disastrous if he ever even suits up, but i guess it's worth it. after next season he'll be an expiring and maybe he can reach a buyout (doubtful)

Well damn. Did your Clipper pom-poms come in the mail yet?

BTW: Blake is hightailing it out of there when his contract runs out.

Nobody wants to play for Sterling.

Weak draft class or not, they could have gotten a lot more than Mo Williams for a top 10 pick
