The Baltimore Sun reports that the Ravens have decided to release Willis McGahee.
The decision was reportedly made at the Ravens' recent personnel evaluation meetings. McGahee, entering his age-30 season, is due a $6 million salary in 2011, and the remaining years on his contract are optional. The move is expected sometime after the owners and players finalize a new CBA. The Sun's Mike Preston suggests that the Ravens could re-sign McGahee for less money after cutting him, but he's likely to pursue the best contract possible.

Per Rotoworld.

No real big shock, it was only a matter of time for Willis to be out of Baltimore soon.

Yeah. Definitely not a surprise. Ever since Ray Rice came along his days were numbered.

His use was just dwindling and dwindling.. I mean, McClain gets touches around the goal line, too.

Yup. He had his moment on the Ravens, and that moment has come and gone. He'd become basically a non-factor for them anymore, and he's almost 30. He could still get carriers on another team. Kind of like LT. Not that i'm comparing the two. Just about the whole resurgence, so to speak LT had this year. Compared to his final years in San Diego.
