The Arizona Cardinals like to go to Pro Bowl wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald when it matters most. This offseason the team has turned to Fitzgerald in a different way.

The Cardinals have solicited Fitzgerald's opinion on which quarterback the team should trade for or sign, according to league sources.

Fitzgerald's first recommendation was Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Kevin Kolb, for whom the Eagles are expected to entertain trade offers. Fitzgerald also brought up Baltimore Ravens backup quarterback Marc Bulger, whose contract is up this offseason.

What's also notable about Arizona asking Fitzgerald for his opinion is that the Cardinals know they have to keep their wide receiver happy. Fitzgerald is entering the last year of his contract and if the Cardinals don't have a viable quarterback, their Pro Bowl wide receiver might be less likely to re-sign.

But if Arizona shores up its quarterback position, it likely will shore up the fact that it can keep Fitzgerald long term.
Thats cool that they would ask him for his opinions. But i'm disappointed that he didn't mention Alex Smith's name.

I don't blame him for not mentioning Alex Smith, lol. He's very inconsistent.

If Alex Smith didn't have those tiny hands he'd probably be pretty good.

They tend to ask Fitz a lot. Makes sense. See what QB your best receiver would like to have throwing to him. Want to keep him happy. Although, I don't think any of these guys would be good for them. Bulger had his time. Kolb and Smith have trouble proving they are worthy of being starters. Out of the 3, I like Smith the most, but none of the 3 are really a great option to rely on them to lead your team to success.

What in the world are you talking about?

Smith over Kolb? Smith blows whale dick.

Kolb was beat out by Mike Vick and McNabb. Kolb would easily own Alex Smith if they were on the same team, and its not even close. Kolb is way better than Alex "Bust Me" Smith.

I'd argue with that all day. Alex Smith has had some good games. But he is inconsistent as heck. If he can find an offense that he can click with....watch out.

If he can't make it work with Crabtree, Davis, Gore then he'll never get it working. Sorry.
