besides, if not blake, who?

Aldridge is having a great season
so is ZBo
so is Lamar Odom

Blake's numbers are better, and he's a rookie. and it's not like memphis and portland are in 2nd place in the west

if you want to get mad at someone in the game, look at duncan or even pau-----who i dont think should be an all-star, at least not ahead of lamar

20/5/5 is more rare....

I'm not gonna argue with the blake brigade.

Although he's a rookie I think Blake deserved the spot, or at least more then Duncan or Pau who I thought Aldridge should've had instead. I will agree with Dre though about all the attention Blake's getting. He's a great player and is having a great season but it's annoying as fuck when everyone's dick riding the shit outta him.

MR.Ballin said it

Andre is just mad because Blake pushed him, should have been a foul, no call was made.
next trip down court, Andre pushed Blake to the ground and got suspended ending his consecutive games streak. he was going for the all-time record. he hates Blake

plus Aldridge is on his team

and the hate I see in here is just unbelievable.

Blake made the team for good reason. He's not putting up 18/8 which would be great rookie numbers. he's putting up 23/13/4 shooting not 45%, 51%.

you know who the only rookies to put up 20/12 are?
Bob Pettit, Walt Bellamy, Elgin Baylor, Wilt Chamberlain, Elvin Hayes, Kareem, David Robinson, Shaq. Guess what, all hall of famers

unreal. just unreal. you guys got to stop trying to find ways to hate and take a step back and say, you know what, this Blake Griffin is having a marvelous season.

Andre Miller and cheato mentioned LeBron not making it his rookie year. both right. he was putting up 20/5/5. he was totally snubbed. I remember
Blake's numbers are better

Sure he puts up amazing highlight dunks that are always on sportscenter, but what other player is doing that? i see andre iguodala dunks, dorrell wright, javale mcgee dunks all the time. why not cry about them?

maybe blake has so many SC highlights because he's been amazing? all great players have great highlight reels.

unreal some of you. just unreal. I think this might be my longest post ever :p

/end rant
+1

I couldn't have said it better myself. His numbers have been superb but just because he's a rookie everyone's getting their panties in a bunch.

I don't think anyone should criticize Blake for being a rookie. Also, I think Blake's rookie season is much better than LeBron's was.

Top 3 rookie season ever?

C'mon man...

Wilt, Oscar, Shaq...rookie years are all better and that's just going off the top of my head.

I also recall Wes Unseld being MVP his rookie year as well.

Yep. I'd say top ten might even be a stretch.

I still just have weird feeling about having a rookie in the ASG. Wasn't Reke putting up Rookie LeBron numbers last year and didn't get a spot?

Lets look at the messenger people. This is Andre Miller, dude is obviously going to say shit like this after what happened between him and Blake. I think the hype with Blake is very well deserved, the guy has been amazing this year and its the fans vote to make and by popularity the fans want to see Blake more than Aldridge. This isnt about who deserves it more like an MVP trophy, this is the All-Star game which is about entertaining the fans and making the game exciting. Thats exactly what Blakes going to do better than the other players that didnt get selected.

+rep me bitches, lol.

Does this game, or any other event at ASW, matter at all?

The reserves are not voted in by the fans. Just the starters.

It was never 'cool' in the first place.

LA market + ESPN= Unnecessary hype and cock-riding

Look at the Knicks in the larger NY market. Now that they finally don't blow complete ass, everyone is hyping them up.
When you compare the Knicks to the Nets, yes, the Knicks do look very good

while that is true, shaq led his team to a 4 seed that year, with a .500 record
Blake, who has more talent around him than Shaq did (Eric Gordon, Baron Davis, Chris Kaman: yes, they arent that good but its better than the equivalents of what shaq had), right now has his team 13 games below .500, and its not even halfway through the year

even lebron did better (only 6 below, but he had nobody on that roster outside him)

east was so weak for lebron. still is today. so top heavy

look at the west today
teams ahead of the clips: blazers, suns, warriors, grizzlies, houston. these teams would all be in the playoffs in the east. well, after miami/orl/bos/atl/chicago. 3 of these west teams would be in though

clippers are 19-32. 8th seed in the east is 22-29. they'd be in the hunt if they were moved to the east on their own

and talent? baron came in out of shape. he's been better, but he's still not playing like the star he's supposed to be. Gordon is great, but he's missed time. Kaman? he sucks. he's only played in like 4 games anyways

back when lebron was a rook, the 4th seed in the east was 42-40. 8th seed was 36-46
the magic were 500, but they didnt make the playoffs
