Falcons signed head coach Mike Smith to a three-year extension.
Though Smith has yet to win a playoff game, he's racked up 33 regular season wins compared to just 15 losses in three years on the job and was entering a contract season. His record is easily the best in franchise history for a coach in his first three years. Smith took home Sporting News NFL Coach of the Year honors in 2010. Oddly, he received just one of 50 votes for Associated Press Coach of the Year.
I'm happy for Mike, hes came a long way since Jacksonville. It still sucks he left because he was our head coach in waiting. He decided to move on early to get the job though.
