Most people believe Cam Newton will be draft high!?! You guys really need to get out more and actually read into the fucking draft class. Study mocks, consider the QB class, the QB situation of every team, and maybe even dabble into what NFL scouts are saying about Cam Newton.
Also, consider more than just the opinions of the few at SI, before using terms like: "They" or "Most people".
Nobody here apparently likes Cam Newton, nobody can give any reasons as to what makes him such a 1st round commodity....other than this notion of, "some team will take a chance, quote me".

Teams don't just take a chance on kid like Newton....just because. Nobody is enamored by this trillion yards rushing in 1 CFB season...b/c he did inside a gimmick offense and using a style of play that doesn't translate into the role of an NFL quarterback at all.

Haha. No. I did not mention Tebow. And it's not the rushing. We know he won't be able to do that. But the upside is there. Some team, with a good coach will think they can morph him into an all-star. Sure teams don't like this work-out, but regardless, there are sources, which say some NFL scouts think he can be Top 5 even. We do research. We aren't talk out of our asses.

What upside I ask...and I am asking in terms of first round value. Cam Newton is a project QB, you said it urself, but no teams are rushing to tackle that project while burning up a first round pick at the same time. Athletic QB's who ran gimmicky offenses, with more intangibles, and better pocket potential, have come along before...and they've failed miserably.

I like Cam. I really do. But if I was GM, I would be a little taken back by the little soap opera that is Cam Newton. Everyone with eyes can see the potential. And I don't think he's Jamarcus Russell 2.0. But I don't think he's the next great QB. I'd almost go with another QB instead of Cam if I was in need of a QB.
