NFL.com - Bears quarterback Jay Cutler suffered a medial collateral ligament tear in Sunday's 21-14 loss to the Packers, according to a report by the Chicago Sun-Times.

Chicago hasn't made an official announcement on Cutler's injury. He is expected to undergo an MRI on Monday.

He left Sunday's NFC Championship Game in the third quarter.
It was a sprain to the MCL.
I just heard that on ESPN as I was posting this article.
So disregard the tear part.

Meh, too many people are freaking out about it.

Who cares if he left, he wasn't doing shit regardless. Bears had a better chance of winning with Hanie than Cutler yesterday.

LOL No... Hanie did OK against a prevent (you from win) defense than was only rushing three guys, giving him all day to just find an opening in the defense. You can't tell me a third string QB with no experience was a better shot at winning than the franchise QB. Yes, he played better, Cutler was awful in the first half, but he was not a better shot at winning, if you see what I'm saying.

You can find the rest of my thoughts in the post season thread... Basically, anybody hating on Cutler for coming out is an idiot. Hate on him, because you don't like his personality or whatever, but hating him for yesterday is stupid.

A minor tear still doesn't sound that bad though :p
True. LOL In the end, I'm not blaming Jay for this loss. I'm blaming the lack of enthusiasm to start the game... The defense just let the Packers march right down the field and score on the first series of the game, sucking away all the momentum. It's like they didn't come out with any fire and the gameplan also seemed pretty poor IMO. It was a completely different story for the D in the second half, so I just wish they would've came to play from the start, because I think we would have seen a completely different game. Oh well, we got further than anybody would have thought, I'll be waiting for a great year next season.

I mean if Aaron Rodgers has a QB rating in the 50's, do you think you're going to lose the game? LOL

Just poor execution by the Bears yesterday, so congrats to the Packers...

Haha like the ones who burned his jersey. Although, jersey burning is retarded in any case.

I'm not blaming solely Cutler for the Bears loss. It was a team effort, or lack of. Nobody says Aaron Rodgers was the reason the Packers won. Anyone who isn't delusional that is. Packers won, as a team. Bears lost, as a team. I just don't like Cutler, and when it showed him on the sidelines, he looked like he didn't care. He could of showed more support. Maybe he did, just the camera didn't catch it, but he's just one of those guys I don't like.

Packers weren't playing prevent. I saw alot of Cover 3, Hanie just happened to take advantage of it. Cutler wasn't getting it done. I'm saying Hanie looked better than Cutler.

I said last night that Jay Cutler is missing that 'edge' as a starting NFL quarterback and I think that's a huge reason why such an injury would force him out of such a crucial game. Is Jay Cutler the first NFL key player to suffer a sprained MCL in a playoff game? Hell no...but I'd be willing to wager that he's one of the first to come out and stay out of the game. Again, I look at how fucked up Favre was, all game long, 2009 NFC title game...or even T.O. basically ignoring all doctor's opinion and risking further injury, because he wanted to be on the field for the Super Bowl. These are true competitors, guys who won't let sprains or slight tears keep them away from competing in a game of this magnitude. Is Jay Cutler a pussy? No...but he's not a guy I'd be too confident about in any big game and there's obviously no adrenaline pumping through this guys' veins.

I believe that Jay is soft, he's too nonchalant about his business, and he has one of the shittiest attitudes I've ever seen in such a spotlight. Caleb Hanie gave the Bears somewhat of a spark but c'mon...how the fuck do you not see Raji's fat-ass standing 3 feet away from your check-down receiver? Hanie has some potential, he had a great pre-season, only to be further buried down the Bears' depth chart, once the season began. That plus what the Bears invested in Cutler and the embarrassment that is Todd Collins...I think it's safe to say that the Bears totally fucked up their situation at quarterback.

Lovie actually got it wrong, he sprained his vagina

seriously I know plenty of guys that have straight up tore their MCL during a game and finished the game like it was nothing. Cutler is just a pussy and because of this I've never liked the dude. I'll take Caleb Hanie anyday over Cutler

Then you my friend are an idiot...

I think Heath Evans said it best... If this was any other quarterback in the NFL, this would be a non issue and we wouldn't even still be talking about it. Jay Cutler's attitude has cost him here and people are just ganging up on him.

The dude is obviously no pussy... Do we not remember the New York game where he got sacked 10 times in the first half and kept coming back for more? He got knocked out at some point prior to half time, but wasn't removed from the game until the half when he was given the concussion test. He also gave it a go in the second half yesterday, so to say he just quit is also stupid. I'll take his word and his teammates over anybody else on this subject. Olin Kreutz was amazed Cutler even came out in the second half, I'm pretty sure he would have a good idea how he's feeling, since they have interaction on every play.
