Actually, Stafford did have the "WOW" factor at Georgia. He had amazing arm strength and accuracy, and his knowledge of plays was amazing. I remember they did a "chalk talk" on NFL Network one time with him and Mike Mayock, and he completely left Mayock impressed. At the time, Stafford was the best QB in the class. Sanchez only started 16 college games, which isn't alot. Freeman was very raw and some didn't know how well he'd work out in the NFL.

Also, The Lions taking Stafford had nothing to do with Millen. Normally whenever a team decides to rebuild over, they start with a new QB.. which is exactly what Mayhew was doing. Stafford at the time was worth the #1 pick. Who else? Aaron Curry? Jason Smith? Crabtree? It was a weak class overall.

It was a weak class overall so their choices were limited, and yeah teams do you usually start with a QB when rebuilding, because that's the most logical position to go with. Without a QB that can lead your team, the rebuilding will pretty much go nowhere. Unless you have an O-line that can block for 2 minutes every snap, and the best WRs in the league. Then, you might have a shot, but you'd have to be ignorant to not know that a QB is where the team is made or broken. Right now, this team is under construction because of Stafford being injured.

Lol. A bust and horrible player.
That was a good comical fix for the day.

He just needs to prove some things to people in the coming years and I personally believe he will do that.

Exactly. People tend to think bust and injury prone go hand and hand. They don't. If he was a bust, he would suck, even when he's healthy, and that's clearly not the case. Injury prone, that's got me a little worried.
